WHAT A LIFE STYLE
WHAT A LIFE STYLE
Pro ice hockey player Mike Dalhuisen is living his best life. For his sports career he traveled all over the world, met the most special people, visited the most beautiful places on earth, all while doing what he loves to do most; play ice hockey. That's why he tells himself 'What a life' every day, but not only about the special things he experiences. People who know Mike well, know that he finds happiness in small things. Usually it is something very simple; a view, a smell, good food, a couple in love, the sound of a child laughing or sunbeams breaking through the clouds; "what a life."
But is that happiness self explanatory? Are you given happiness because of the environment in which you grow up, the wealth of your parents, or the talent you were born with? Or are you responsible for creating your own happiness? 1 in 7 people in the world struggle with mental health problems, for which our society unfortunately still has far too little understanding and respect. Mike has also been through some very tough times, including losing his mother to cancer at the age of 18, and losing contact with his younger brother and sister. That is precisely why Mike focuses on the small moments of happiness in life, and with this mindset he wants to inspire others to experience the joy in life again. Because oftentimes the happy moments are all around us, but we fail to see them.
“Find it. Live it. Love it.” Find your passion, give it a chance, and fall in love with your life again. What a life, right? – Mike Dalhuisen
